Lisa Lowell is a journeywoman vocalist, songwriter, and rock n’ roll back-up singer/ arranger who lives with her wildcat “Skeeter” on New York’s upper West Side. The off-spring of a jazz drummer father and jazz singer mother, she grew up listening fervently to rhythm and blues, jazz and country / soul. She decided as a young tyke that music was the obvious path for her.
Originally hailing from the Jersey shore, after attending music school in Boston she moved to New York City in 1977 to become a professional back-up singer, frequenting the clubs, streets, and music venues as a hired support vocalist and in her own singing groups and bands. Out of one of these bands, "Trixster" she was contracted in the early 80's to tour with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. There she experienced her first full-fledged tour with pals Patti Scialfa and Soozie Tyrell.
